François Cooren is Professor in the Department of Communication at the University of Montreal. His main interest concerns “organizing” phenomena and organizations’ ways of being and acting. He studies social interactions, in particular the way in which values, principles, norms and ideologies are expressed, applied and developed in our texts and conversations. His books include Communication as Organizing: Empirical and Theoretical Explorations in the Dynamic of Text and Conversation (2013), Organization and Organizing: Materiality, Agency and Discourse (2013), Action and Agency in Dialogue (2010) and The Organizing Property of Communication (2000).
